Electromagnetic Telescopes

There aren’t only telescope that you can buy from Amazon, which
are optical, there are telescopes that use electromagnetism.
Telescopes can be set up to detect varying wavelengths in the
electromagnetic spectrum. They are used to detect objects that
cannot be seen with visible light.
Radio telescopes use radio waves to create images of astronomical
objects which makes it easier because the atmosphere is
transparent. However, the downside about radio telescopes is, it
must be ground based and far away in isolated places to avoid
interference from nearby radio sources.
I-R telescopes use infrared radiation to create images that show
temperature, the downside of this telescope is, it’s hella
expensive and must be cooled with liquid nitrogen until it reaches
sub-zero levels. These telescopes must be sent to space in order
to properly function. The atmosphere absorbs infrared radiation so
these telescopes must be launched into space and accessed remotely
from the ground.
Ultraviolet telescopes use ultraviolet radiation to create images
of astronomical objects. The ozone layer blocks all ultraviolet
rays. These types of telescopes utilize the Caseggrain
configuration to bring uv radiation rays to a focus. UV telescopes
can be used to observe the interstellar medium and star formation
regions.
X-ray telescopes use X-rays to create images of astronomical
objects. These telescopes need to be in space to collect data.
Since X-rays are high-energy, they can be used to observe high-
energy events and areas of space like active galaxies, black holes
and neutron stars.
Gamma telescopes use gamme radiation to create images in layers of
pixel. As the gamma photons pass through, they cause a signal in
each pixel they come into contact with. These telescopes are used
to observe things such as gamma ray bursts, quasars, black holes
and solar flares.
