Range of Energy Sources
Energy can be generated from both renewable and non-renewable ways. Non renewable
energy supplies examples are fossil fuels. This cannot be renewed at the same rate as they are
being used (non sustainable). Nuclear energy can be considered non renewable as the fuel
used (uranium) is considered a non-renewable form of natural capital.
Renewable energy sources examples are hydrological, solar, geothermal, biomass and tidal.
They can be large scale (country wide schemes of energy generation) and small-scale (micro
generation, for individuals). Renewable energy resources are sustainable because there is no
depletion of natural capital.
