gewillig en vriendelijk karakter. Max 160cm schofthoogte -> onderscheidt Ardens en Belgisch.
Belang voor België: Vooral professioneel: is als koetspaard aan zijn opmars bezig, wordt in de
Ardennen als trekpaard gebruikt voor de houtkap.

(Opgelet: het Belgisch trekpaard bestaat in verschillende vachtkleuren)
Belangrijkste functies: Hobbypaard, vroeger trekpaard
Typerende kenmerken: Taai, moedig, gewillig en fier van karakter. Zware, hoge bouw, met
schofthoogte tot 170cm. Zijn net iets groter van bouw, en gewilliger van karakter dan Ardense.
Belang voor België: Wordt vooral als hobbypaard gebruikt, is aan een heropleving bezig.
