Unit 1) P1) Investigating the Travel and Tourism Sector
Domestic Tourism: Travelling within your own country is called domestic tourism.
For example I and my cousin have been to PSP Southampton Boat show to see
different attractions as well as to try a boat.
Inbound Tourism: People are coming into the United Kingdom. For example
Americans come to visit the UK for 2 weeks to see things and do such as Tower of
London, Buckingham Palace, London Eye, etc and stayed in Hilton Hotel.
Outbound Tourism: Travelling to different countries for a visit or for business
purpose. A friend of mine has been to Palm Jumeirah, Dubai which has a number of
Hotels and Resorts such as The Fairmont Palm Hotel & Resort, Kempinski Hotel &
Residences, Rixos The Palm Dubai and Atlantis, The Palm.

Non Serviced and Serviced Accommodation: Non serviced accommodation is a

you. Example of non serviced accommodation would be Camping, campsites such as
Haven Holidays which is for Domestic tourists. Example of serviced Accommodation
would be Roomzzz Apartment and Hilton Hotel. It is for both Domestic and Inbound

air, rail, sea and road.
Rail such as Arriva Trains Wales is for domestic tourist, and Euro star, which is for
both Inbound and outbound tourist. These are privately owned organisation that
carry passengers from one place to another directly or indirectly.

services run from southeast of England to France, Spain and the Channel Islands.
Norfolk Line and P & O Ferries are for inbound and Outbound tourist where as Stena

Natural attractions are given by nature itself i.e. mountains, forests, rivers and lakes.
Heritage is an important and valuable object such as cultural tradition, history
buildings, etc. Created or produced by our ancestors i.e. Windsor Castle and Tower of
London. Built attractions are those which are made by human and their purpose is to
provide fun and entrainment. Examples would be Theme Parks and Museums. Events
include Halloween Notting Hill Carnival and Bonfire night. Whether these attractions
are natural or manmade all kinds of tourist whether they are domestic tourist,
inbound or Outbound they can visit and see the most attraction places as well as take
participate in events.
