MBR, master boot record:
Un registro de arranque principal, conocido también como registro de
arranque maestro es el primer sector de un dispositivo de
almacenamiento de datos, como un disco duro.
A veces, se emplea para el arranque del sistema operativo con
bootstrap, otras veces es usado para almacenar una tabla de
particiones y, en ocasiones, se usa sólo para identificar un dispositivo
de disco individual.
Sector de arranque 512 bytes.

sdb disco 1, sdb1 partición del disco 1.

MBR, master boot record:
Copia de seguridad del MBR en usando distribución de linux:
➢ Arrancamos con el live-cd o ISO: DRBL (en este caso)
➢ Desde un terminal y con privilegios de administrador tecleamos:
➢ Para hacer la copia de seguridad:
dd if=/dev/sda of=fichero bs=512 count=1
Donde:
/dev/sda es el disco de donde haremos la copia
fichero es el nombre del fichero donde guardamos la copia
➢ Para restaurar la copia de seguridad:
dd if=fichero of=/dev/sda bs=512 count=1
Para guardar/restaurar el fichero podemos indicar donde está:
alfa/fichero puede ser en un pendrive montado en el directorio alfa
Para montar el pendrive u otra unidad /dev/sdc1 en un directorio:
Primero creamos el directorio con el comando
#mkdir alfa
Y luego lo montamos con el comando mount
#mount /dev/sdc1 alfa
