Inleiding
Sociaal werk is een breed beroep. Je hebt een hele verzameling van beroepen en functies
die inhoudelijk allemaal met elkaar te maken hebben en op elkaar lijken. Zo heb je
bijvoorbeeld SMD, sociaal maatschappelijk dienstverlener en SCD, sociaal cultureel
dienstverlener. Beide beroepen verrichten hetzelfde werk en komen zo veel overeen. Toch
verschilt er het een en ander, waardoor beide beroepen een eigen opleiding hebben.
Sociaal werk is een praktijkgericht beroep waarbij maatschappelijke verandering centraal
staat. Zo richt de een zich op de maatschappij en de samenleving en de ander gaat te werk
als hulpverlener met een cliënt. Zo stimuleren beide gevallen mensen en instituties om
uitdagingen aan te gaan, het leven te beteren en het helpen van het welzijn van een
individu.
Sociaal werkers ondersteunen mensen bij problemen waar zij in het dagelijks leven mee
kampen. Het doel is om deze personen in kwestie zodoende te helpen en begeleiden zodat
