in Nederland ongeveer 1.500 tot 2.000 patiënten. Er wordt jaarlijks bij ongeveer 100 nieuwe
patiënten MG vastgesteld.
MG kan op iedere leeftijd beginnen
• Bij vrouwen is dit meestal tussen het 20e en 30e levensjaar.
• Vaak begint MG bij vrouwen na een zwangerschap.
• Bij mannen begint de ziekte meestal tussen het 40e en 60e levensjaar.
MG komt 2x zo vaak voor bij vrouwen dan bij mannen.
• Boven de leeftijd van 60 jaar komt MG vaker bij mannen voor.
