Opdrachtomschrijving
Uit opdracht van de gemeente Zaanstad gaan wij de wijk Poelenburg analyseren. Wij gaan
analyseren hoe de problemen ontstaan zijn, welke maatregelen er sindsdien zijn genomen
en we blikken vooruit naar de toekomst. Op deze manier krijgen wij een zo duidelijk mogelijk
beeld van wijk Poelenburg en kunnen wij aanbevelingen doen voor maatregelen in de
toekomst.
Introductie wijk Poelenburg
Na de Tweede Wereldoorlog ontstond de wijk Poelenburg. Er was weinig schade in de
zaanstreek, maar wel erg erg veel vraag naar arbeiders. In de 20e eeuw werd Zaanstad een
overloopgebied van Amsterdam, waardoor de wijk meer inwoners kreeg. Wijk Poelenburg is
een wijk met een hoog percentage migranten, maar 26% van de inwoners is autochtoon. De
meeste migranten komen uit Turkije. In 2009 werd Poelenburg vermeld op de opgestelde
lijst van Nederlandse probleemwijken door het ministerie van Volkshuisvesting, Ruimtelijke
Ordening en Milieubeheer. In 2016 kwam de wijk nogmaals negatief in de media. Vlogger
Ismail Ilgun begon met zijn ‘Hoodvlogs’ waarin hij liet zien hoe hij overlast veroorzaakte.
