Jack
Wishes to become leader because of his role at school, self-centered. When he
fails to kill a pig, he becomes commited to hunting and causing pain and violence
towards others to be content in himself and to feel in a higher status. His savagery
causes the boys to lean over to his side because of the way he represents hunting
and as they don't want to be harmed. He gains controls of most of the boys and
leads his own authoritarian tribe away from Ralph who struggled to keep everyone
on the right track in order to get rescued. They devote themselves to hunting and
barbaric behaviour. Leading on his own, he is confident and holds a lot of power,
manipulates the boys to increase their savagery and act as a mob, which in result
gets Simon and Piggy and almost Ralph killed.
