Enkele praktische zaken
De toetsing zal plaatsvinden doormiddel van een tentamen en twee opdrachten. De eerste opdracht
is al beschikbaar en de laatste zal over een paar weken beschikbaar komen. Het tentamen bestaat uit
60 vragen met drie keuzes per vraag en hiervoor krijg je een cijfer. Het tentamen zal veelal gaan over
de stof uit het boek (80%), de overige dingen gaan over dingen die in de colleges gezegd worden. De
colleges gaan deels over het boek, maar ook andere dingen bijvoorbeeld verdieping, dingen die
ontbreken in het boek of eigen onderzoek.
Psychologie of confetti?
De Psychologie als ‘ontplofte confettifabriek’ (Barclay, 1973) wijst op dat psychologie veel aparte
delen: super interessant leuk onderzoek, maar veel los. De leuke gekleurde losse confetti stukjes van
een ontplofte confettifabriek.
Vele onderzoekers gaan verder met hun eigen onderzoek of proberen dat van anderen te
weerleggen, in plaats van hierop verder te bouwen. Dit komt door de competitieve kant en het
moeten verkrijgen van subsidies, waardoor het een beetje een wedstrijdje wordt. Dit is voor de
wetenschap geen goed idee. Losse onderzoekjes zijn leuk, maar wetenschappelijke vooruitgang
vereist integratie. Dit kun je doen
door bijvoorbeeld replicaties of
meta-analyses, ook kan het helpen
om meer focus te leggen op de
context van menselijk gedrag. Dit
gebeurt in AOP-psycholgie.
