now viewing dating apps, blind dates, and social media as way of trying to find that special
person.
In the TED Talk, Erin, stated that when she was younger her mother taught her that to make a
relationship work, you would need to be present and show up in that relationship. Erin also
made some valid points about the new dating trend through apps, “we need to defy the current
social climate of hookups and emotional invisibility and forge new models which demonstrate
what pure authentic intimacy looks like.”. Miller, E. (2019, April 23). I believe this to be true,
we won’t know what real authentic intimacy is like if we are allowing dating apps to defy in
what we think is an acceptable person through pictures.
