WPO1 : BCG-matrix / SPA
- BCG = Boston Consulting Group → zij hebben het concept geïntroduceerd
- Business unit’s verdelen opv aandeel en groei
- Helpt bedrijven om productportfolio’s te analyseren
- Gelinkt aan product life cycle en experience curve
- Bepalen of er geïnvesteerd zal worden of juist omgekeerd (minder geld aan besteden)

- Cash cow = genereren meer cash dan dat ze nodig hebben (cashoverschot). Zo lang mogelijk in
cash cow behouden, maar door lage groei zal het uiteindelijk altijd ontwikkelen naar dog
kwadrant. Uit deze producten wordt cash gegenereerd om question marks te financieren.
- Dog = laag martaandeel en lage groei. Ze genereren en gebruiken weinig cash. Maar, men blijft
hier soms foutief aan vasthangen omdat het vroeger succesvol is geweest (cash traps).
o Strategische opties
▪ Retrenchment = verkleining van unit (indien mogelijke revitalisering)
▪ Liquidatie = stopzetting
▪ Desinvesteren = doorverkopen
→ zelf kijken of link met investeringsstrategie klopt! (desinvesteren, analyseren, investeren, oogsten)

- Wat geeft elke BU als return?
- Waar zit nog groeipotentieel?
- Betere rechtvaardiging waarom ene meer budget krijgt als andere
- Wat hebben we in ons portfolio?
