Assignment B - Lesson Plan Form and Paragraph
The aim of the lesson is to introduce the first conditional to the
students with the function (m) of possible situations that are likely to
happen in the future.
Lesson Type: Grammar Lesson Aims:
To recognise the difference between the present simple and the
future simple tense as these tenses are used in the first conditional.
The students will show their knowledge on the first conditional
A2 (Late elementary/ through both freer and controlled practice activities.
Level of Class: pre-intermediate) Lesson Objectives:
Teenagers (14-16 years old)
Students would already know present simple, present continuous,
past simple for common verbs, and would be familiar with will for
future events.
They would be familiar with grammatical terminology, such as the
names of the tenses they already know, subject, auxiliary verb,
Nationality/First negative form, etc.

The students have not been taught the first conditional form up until
this lesson, but some of the students may have heard about this
conditional form.

, As the students are A2 level which is generally a lower level may
cause difficulties with comprehending the concept of the first
conditional form. In order to prevent this the teacher will prepare and
plan the language to use before the lesson which is believed to be the
appropriate language for this level.
As the concept of the first conditional may be difficult to understand
as well as the students speak the same first language and given their
age (teenagers); they may start to talk to each other in their native

Students may confuse the first conditional with other conditionals. I
will clearly explain the difference between the conditionals.
As the class is a lower level the concept of the first conditional may be
difficult which could lead to students getting easily distracted. This
could be prevented by keeping the class interactive and using context
that the students are able to relate to.
