1. Het circulatiestelsel
- Hart (cor) = pomp
- Bloedvatenstelsel= gesloten buizenstelsel
- Lymfevatenstelsel= blind eindigend buizenstelsel
● Microscopische kleine vaatjes verzamelen zich tot steeds groter wordende vaten
● Uiteindelijk zullen 2 grote lymfevaten uitmonden in het bloedvatenstelsel
- Grote bloedsomloop:
● Linker ventrikel
● Aorta
● Arteriën – arteriolen – capillairen – venulen

2.1.1 Ligging
- Achter het sternum ( van 3de tot 6de rib)
- In het mediastinum
- Rust op diafragma
2.1.2 Grootte
- +/- vuistgrootte (+/- 250 à 350 g)
2.1.3 Vorm
- Kegelvormig
- Hol orgaan; punt wijst naar onder links + basis naar achter boven
3.1.1 gewone hartspiercel
- sarcolemma
● uiterst dun met intercalaire schijven en Desmosomen
- bevat: myofibrillen + 1 ronde kern
3.1.2 pacemakercel
- veel sarcoplasma (grotere, gezwollen hartspiercellen)
- weinig of geen myofibrillen
