Health and Social Care
● This is my full essay for Unit 7
○ My case studies: Merryvale residence and Zebra ward
○ Pass, Merit, Distinction all covered in this document

apply to my case study, Merryvale residence and Zebra ward. The policies and

according to the code of conduct because it sets out guidelines about how the staff
could be behaving when interacting with the service users, able to promote the
safety of others, able to maintain and improve the quality of the service. This shows
that the staff have failed to carry out the duty of care. However, the two females are
facing discrimination due to the staff not letting them stay in the same room as they
have been entitled to a double room, which shows that how their needs are not being
met. This can have a negative impact on the two same-sex couple as they would feel
like they are not being treated equally as the other service users because the staff
have not listened to and fulfilled their needs. As the legal obligation refers to
performing your duties correctly and being able to provide care objectively and fulfil
