Workshop 4 comp arch – MARIE0; Load 1 # loads instruction on line 1, this line is pointless as said in the question.
1: JNS X # Jumps to address X which is 4 and stores the PC which would be 2 in the DEC 0 variable, as
2 instructions have been processed and jumps to X+1 which would be line 5
2: STORE 8 #this will store the final result for later
3: HALT #stops the program
4: X, DEC 0 #Memory location is labelled X for our Jump statements, and also has a variable named
DEC 0, its used to store the PC for this program
5: LOAD 8 # Loads the contents of Memory location 8 into the accumulator which is 3
6: ADD 9 #Adds the contents of memory location 9 to the accumulator which brings the total to 7
7: JUMPI X #It jumps to memory location of X which is line 4 and uses the contents stored there as
the actual address to jump to, so it goes to 4 and then goes to 2 as that was stored there so it will
store the accumulator value of 7 into memory location 8 and then proceed to halt the program.
Answers fill in the order e.g [5] is refer to the line 5 on the picture at the top, however its multiple
choice drop down so e.g 7 for the last answer is number 7 not [7].
