Cytoskelet
Bestaat uit 3 verschillende filamenten:
1. intermediaire filamenten
Voor treksterkte: zorgen ervoor dat mechanische bewegingen opgevangen kunnen worden.
Zijn het sterkste van alle filamenten. Zit met name in het cytosol, behalve lamine (kern).
Uiteinden van de filamenten zijn hetzelfde.
2. microtubuli
Holle buisjes opgebouwd uit dimeren van alpha- en
beta-tubuline. Uiteinden zijn verschillend: beta-
uiteinde -> plus-einde en alpha-uiteinde -> minus-
einde. Plus-einde: tubuline gebonden aan GTP. En
min-einde: gebonden aan GDP. De nucleotide raakt
gehydrolyseerd. De uiteindes die ooit GTP waren
worden GDP. Als het GDP gebonden heeft, heeft het
minder affiniteit voor het andere eiwit en zal dus
sneller loslaten. Als er dus GDP gebonden is zal de polymere structuur sneller uit elkaar
vallen. Aan het plus-uiteinde worden dus dimeren toegevoegd en aan het minus-uiteinde
vallen ze er weer af.
Het minus-uiteinde wordt vastgezet in het centrosoom
en kan dus niet afbreken. Er kan dan groei plaatsvinden
aan het +-uiteinde.
