Tema 3: Esterilización del material
Introducción
En este tema, vamos a centrarnos en la esterilización, como proceso que abarca el nivel
máximo de higiene en aquel instrumental que utilizamos en el diagnóstico y tratamiento
de los pacientes, cuando invade determinadas partes de nuestro organismo.
En concreto, vamos a ver los distintos tipos de esterilización que existen, así como lo
aparatos destinados a tal fin. Veremos los distintos protocolos de realización de
esterilización según el material.
3 Una vez realizado el proceso de esterilización, no podemos relajarnos, ya que sigue
siendo igual de importante su transporte, almacenamiento y posterior seguimiento de
control de esterilidad hasta su uso.
Objetivos
✓ Definir el proceso de la esterilización.
✓ Seleccionar el método de esterilización más adecuado.
✓ Establecer la secuencia de pasos a seguir en las distintas técnicas de
esterilización.
✓ Determinar las condiciones de almacenamiento del material estéril.
