behaviour.

● Begin with introduction to each approach
● Explain all six approaches
● Key figures for each perspective
● Main assumptions (what they say influences human development the most)
● You need to explain whether each approach is nature, idiographic or nomothetic,
continuity or discontinuity (pages 11 - 13)
● Remember to PEEL (point, expand, explain and link)

P2: Explain how psychological perspectives contribute to the understanding of specific human
behaviour.

● List the specific behaviours: Violence and aggression, depression, PTSD, addition
● Explain how these different perspectives explain these specific behaviours
● For the psychodynamic approach, explain the concept of weak superego, deviant
superego and excessively strong superego
● For the behaviourist approach, explain the concept of phobias
● For the biological approach, explain the concept of violence and aggression
● For the cognitive approach, explain depression or anti-social behaviour in individuals

M1: Analyse the contribution of psychological perspectives to the understanding and
behaviours.

● Provide evidence for previous assumptions for each approach
