Voor deze opdracht zal een hijskraan worden gemaakt, die wordt aangedreven door een
elektromotor. De hijskraan zal een klein blokje moeten kunnen op- en aftakelen. Om ervoor te
zorgen dat dit kan, zal de motor dus een bepaald vermogen moeten leveren, zodat de waarden van
de benodigde energie en kracht worden behaald, waardoor het blokje piepschuim kan worden
opgetild.
De kracht van de motor kan met behulp van tandwielen worden vergroot en worden overgebracht
op de kabel van de hijskraan. Waarna er met behulp van een vaste katrol uiteindelijk de kracht op de
haak wordt overgebracht. De geleverde kracht zal minimaal zo groot als de zwaartekracht die op het
blokje werkt plus de wrijving die erop werkt, moeten zijn. Verder moet het moment van de
tandwielen en de arm groot/lang genoeg zijn, ten opzichte van de kracht die de motor levert.
