A mild healthy working environment is not the best in any working environment. It
means that workers are hurting in many aspects of the organization. This is not morally right and
can have adverse effects on the health of the worker and the safety of patients. According to
(Clark, Olender, Cardoni & Kenski, 2011), nurse work is four times more dangerous than other
occupations. Nurses face work-related crimes at least two times than any other healthcare
provider. Workplace violence is attributed to complex patients, worsening interpersonal
relationships, and excess workload. Ignoring these signs leads to a spiral in workplace incivility
that manifests through intentional retaliation, workplace bullying, and violence.
I was surprised at the level of job dissatisfaction at our facility and the question of
whether they would recommend a relative or friend to the facility. The two areas scored the
lowest; this showed a declined level of loyalty and attitude towards the facility. I wasn't
surprised that colleagues cited excessive and unreasonable workload. Most of us were victims of
rolling shifts, doing even five in a roll. The arrangement takes a toll on our health, interaction
with patients as well as our families. The situation at my workplace can be assessed in terms of
the basic ethics of a workplace. If one inserted the term "healthy workplace" into the Google
search engine, they would find over 2,000,000 results to indicate the robustness and hotness of
the topic. Therefore, people will ask what the essence of developing a healthy work environment
is, and the answer is; it is the right, intelligent and legal thing to do. Almost all major religions
and philosophies have emphasized the importance of personal moral code since the world
started. Basic ethical principles demand no harm to others. In the recent past, workplaces have
been required to implement business ethics in the wake of many scandals revolving around
