They say “good morning teacher.”
How are the desks arranged?
The desks are arranged in rows.
• Where is the teacher at the beginning of the lesson?
The teacher stands in front of the class facing the learners.
• Does the teacher take a register?
Yes.
• Are the learners allowed to talk when they enter or are they silent?
The are allowed to talk quietly when entering, but once the teacher greets the class
they must be silent.
• Are they allowed to bring their school bags or sport bags inside?
Yes, the learners are allowed to bring their bags into the classroom.

• How is the previous day’s homework dealt with?
The teacher discusses the homework by indicating the correct answers on the
blackboard and explaining the answers. How does the teacher settle the
class?
The teacher asks the class to settle down and be quiet. She reminds the learners of
the classroom rules.

She states that the class will start with the day’s lesson and introduces the topic.
