Jy suig na jou eerste asem en (as n baba gebore is huil hulle = teken
van lewe/ sign of life)
die vensters van jou siel ontwaak,
en kyk stip in myne. (baba maak sy oe oop en kyk vir sy ma)
‘n Gloed skiet op deur my hele wese, want in ‘n oogwink het jy al die
poorte in
my onstluit. (enjambement/ oorloop van een sin na volgende reel.
Warm gevoel. Baba het die ma se wereld geword/ baby became the
moms world)
Jy bedwelm my in my diepste menswees, (bedwelm = neem
oor/take over. Al waarop die ma kan konsentreer/ only thing the
mom can concentrate on)
Sodat ek soos ‘n dwaas weerloos voor jou staan met my hart in jou
hande. (soos = vergelyking. Dwaas = not thinking/ sy dink nie.
Weerloos= sal nie nee kan se nie. Ma sal alles vir die kind doen/
mom will do anything for the child)
Ek die een wat jou moet lui (ma is die opveoder/ gee leiding. She is
the instructor/ in-charge, she gives instruction.)

from the mom.)
In jou spieels sien ek ‘n woord wat nie elke dag meer vir die
mensdom bestaan nie, ‘n reenboog van hoop. (enjambement. Kind
is n simbool van hoopvir die toekoms/ child is a symbol of hope for
, the future. Mense is soms negatief/ people can be negative
sometimes. Hoop is soos n reenboog = metafoor.)
Waar daar miskien nie altyd ‘n pot van goud op ons wag nie, is daar

bondeltjie liefde soos n pot vol goud = metafoor)
‘n nuwe lewe in almal van ons (nuwe kind maak hulle weer lus vir
die lewe/ child makes them excited for life again)
Mag ek, mag ons almal so geseend soos jy wees om dit altyd te kan
sien en te
Ervaar. (goeie wense wat uitgespreek word/ sharing well wishes. Wil
hoop voel en uitleef)
Mag ek, met die bloed wat ons deel jou help om dit noooit uit sig te
verloor. (mag ek = die ma se wens is dat sy altyd die kind sal
herinner aan hoop/ she wishes tobe the childs reminder of hope.
Famielie band/ bloedd is dikker as water)
Mag ek my toets slaag, sodat jy eendag in my voete kan staan,
(haar toets is om n goeie ouer te wees/ her test is to be a good
parent/rolemodel so the child can be like her)
Sodat die kringloop van hoop weer van voor kan begin. (kringloop =
kind word ‘n ouer en dra dieselfde boodskap van hoop oor na sy
kinders/ child becomes a parent and carries the same message to
his children.)
