(a) De T.A.S. molecule komt in het water en hoopt zich op aan het grensoppervlak
lucht/vloeistof. De hydrofobe staart richt zich naar de lucht, de hydrofiele
staarten naar hete water
(b) Bij het mengsel water/olie richten de hydrofobe staarten naar de olie, de
hydrofiele koppen naar het water.
Tekening 1: vuil op het wasgoed
Tekening 2 : er zijn T.A.S. aan toegevoegd en er worden micellen gevormd: de
apolaire staarten naar het vuil, de hydrofiele koppen naar het water. Door de
mechanische werking wordt van het wasmachine worden de omringde vuildeeltjes
losgemaakt
Tekening 3: de vuildeeltjes worden zwevend gehouden omdat ze omgeven zijn
door een polair oppervlak, en de T.A.S. op het textiel stoten de geladen
vuildeeltjes af.
