1. Taalbeschrijving
a. Lexicon
= bevat elementen v.e taal
o Woorden en uitdrukkingen (vaste combo's)
o Morfemen: kleinste betekenisdragende elementen van een taal
Bouwstenen van woorden
o Fonemen: kleinste betekinsonderscheidende elementen van een taal
Kleinste eenheden in het klanksysteem van een taal
b. Grammatica
= een systeem v regels om taalelementen te verbinden tot grotere gehelen
o Syntaxis: verbinding woorden => woordgroepen => zinnen
o Morfologie: verbinding morfemen => woorden (vervoeging, verbuiging, woordvorming)
o Fonologie: verbinding fonemen => morfemen
o Semantiek: betekenis (lexicale semantiek <=> grammaticale semantiek)

a. Algemeen
=> ontworpen voor het Latijn + Grieks (denkkader)
=> later toegepast op volkstalen zoals het Ndl => wringt want klassieke talen

o Woordleer = woordontleding = taalkundige ontleding
o Zinsleer = zinsontleding = redekundige ontleding
