3.1 wervelkolom en borstkasDe columna vertebralis is opgebouwd uit wervels ( vertebrae ), met als functie stevigheid, flexibiliteit,
aanhechtingsplaats en bescherming. Elke wervel heeft oorspronkelijk dezelfde opbouw en vanuit
hieruit zijn specialisaties ontstaan. Dit heeft geleid tot de verschillende regio’s van de wervelkolom:
elke regio heeft zijn eigen kenmerken.
Os sacrum
Dit zijn 5 vergroeide wervels bij elkaar. Dit is bij vrouwen iets breder dan bij mannen.
Os coccygis
Dit zijn 3-5 vergroeide werveltjes. Het is een evolutionair restantje van een staart.
Kromming wervelkolom
Er zijn 2 soorten krommingen in de wervelkolom. Een lordose en kyfose. Bij een lordose is het een
kromming naar voor en bij een kyfose is het een kromming naar achter. ( cervicale lordose –
thoracale kyfose – lumbale lordose ).
Scoliose
Een scoliose is een onnatuurlijke verdraaiing van de wervelkolom. Dit is vooral zichtbaar als een
zijwaartse kromming.
Thorax
De thorax bestaat uit het sternum, 12 PAAR costae. De costae verae ( ware ribben ) 1 t/m 7, de
vostae spuriae ( valse ribben ) 8 t/m 12 en de costae fluctuantes ( zwevende ribben ) 11 & 12.
3.2 wervels
Wervelkanaal en ruggenmerg
Alle wervelgaten ( foramina vertebralia ) boven elkaar vormen het wervelkanaal ( canalis
vertebralis ). Daarin loopt het ruggenmerg. Het ruggenmerg wordt dus goed beschermd door
wervels.
Tussenwervelschijf
De tussenwervelschijf ( discus intervertebralis ) is opgebouw uit:
- Anulus fibrosus ( bindweefselring )
- Nucleus pulposus ( geleiachtige kern )
Een Hnp is een hernia nuclei pulposi. Hierbij is de anulus fibrosis beschadigd, waardoor de nucleus
pulposus tegen het ruggenmerg drukt.
Cervicale vertebrae
Dit zijn 7 stuks. De bovenste 2 zijn bijzonder.
- C 1 = atlas ( drager ), draagt de schedel, ja knikken
- C 2= axis ( draaier ), Draait schedel, nee schudden, heeft een tand
- C 7= vertebra prominens ( steekt vaak het meest uit )
