Colorimetry is a scientific technique that is used to determine the concentration of coloured
compounds in solutions by the application of the Beer–Lambert law, which states that the
concentration of a solute is proportional to the absorbance.

Risk assessment:

Glassware Always wear goggles and a lab coat so there are
less chances of you being hurt glass pieces.
Check the equipment for cracks before use.
Copper sulphate Some people may exhibit a sensitivity to
copper if copper sulphate contacts their
skin. Copper sulphate is a severe eye
irritant and can cause substantial damage
to the eyes. If inhaled, the dust can cause
respiratory irritation. Copper sulphate
should not be ingested. Doing so will cause
serious diarrhoea and vomiting. Copper
sulphate is not a known carcinogen. To
avoid this, instantly wash your skin if you
get it on you and let the teacher know.
Wearing safety goggles will stop it from
getting in contact with your eyes
