globally. Despite its great utilities and low cost, the misuse of plastic products, along
with the indiscriminate and unconsciousness of humans, turns it into a waste that not
only is a cause urban beauty destruction, but also seriously impacts the environment
and human health. In particular, their persistent property will damage the soil, kill
animals get entangled or in another case, under the impact of sea water, they will
disintegrate into small pieces and can be eaten by seafood, then follow the food chain
to enter the human body. Facing the alarming situation of current pollution, many
countries have given a lot of solutions, one of the most popular ones is banning the use
of plastic bags. This essay will discuss the harm of plastic pollution and possible
solutions considered in limiting the harmful effect of its waste. Particularly, analyzing the
information from the articles: “How successful are waste abatement campaigns and
government policies at reducing plastic waste into the marine environment?” and
“Reducing single-use plastic shopping bags in the USA”. These are journal articles
retrieved from Science Direct, which is a reputable source containing a lot of scholarly
articles. Using statistics from these relevant sources for my analysis helps my essay be
more reliable in proving that banning can effectively limit the plastic consumption and
produced our planet’s pollution.
