Kan GABA een ligand zijn?
Ja, alles wat aan een receptor bindt kan een ligand zijn.

Kan je de G-proteïne coupled receptor-
signaaltransductie beschrijven?
1. First messenger (ligand) bindt aan een receptor
(zie rode pijl)
2. Receptorvorm verandert
3. Activatie van een G-proteïne die hieraan gelinkt is
4. Activatie van effectorproteïnen, een enzym of
ion-kanalen
5. Etc.

Wat kan een voordeel zijn van het amplificatiesysteem van
de cAMP?
Het leidt tot de formatie van een miljoen
molecuulproducten. Een enkele first messenger kan dus
voor heel veel verschillende effecten zorgen.

Wat is het voordeel van een reversibele inhibitor in vergelijking met een irreversibele inhibitor?
Bij een reversibele inhibitor, als deze er weer vanaf gaat, kan het substraat weer zijn initiële
werk doen. Als deze irreversibel is, kan het nooit meer worden teruggedraaid, ook al is dit wel
gewenst.

Wat is een vesicle en waar zit dit?
Vesicle = blaasje. Het zit in de presynaptische terminal van een neuron, dus in de cel. Hierin
liggen neurotransmitters opgeslagen, die bij een actiepotentiaal vrij kunnen komen.

Wat doet een SSRI?
Een SSRI is een 5-HT heropname blokker. Het zorgt er dus voor dat 5-HT, die in de synaptische
spleet zit, niet meer terug in de presynaptische cel komt. Zo blijft er netto meer 5-HT over en
het kan meer effecten hebben op de postsynaptische cel.

Wat zijn de directe effecten van 5-HT in de synaptische spleet?
Serotonine is een inhibitoire neurotransmitter. Het balanceert excitatoire neurotransmitters
uit.
