In this assignment, I will be evaluating a problem that has been presented to me and will provide
two different possible solutions to this problem while comparing each solution to identify different
pros and cons of using each of the different solutions to fix the problem. I have also been given the
task of identifying a methodology that will aid in completing and recognising the best solutions to
the problem that has been resented in the assignment brief by going over the advantages and
disadvantages in a few methodologies that can be used.
Scenario/user requirements:
The first requirement mentioned is that the company will need to calculate how much time
is spent on a particular project
Anther requirement will be that the company needs to use the calculate number of hours to
decide how much to charge the client
If the task was performed individually or by a group, if performed individually a name needs
to be given.
The manager wants to know what clients own what tasks.
The program should minimise typing
The program should notify the manager if a timesheet s not completed and who hasn’t
completed it
The program needs to be attractively formatted
The program needs to calculate the total hours spent by each person on a project
The scenario to start the project:
Each project will be defined as a team or individual project
What projects have been completed by who
How much time has been spent on each project
How much the client needs to pay for completion on the project
Manager should be notified if project has not been completed
The program should minimise typing
Scope of project
The scope of this project will go over what the requirements are for the application to be used as
best it can the users will need to enter some information such as how many hours each person has
spent on a project, if a project was completed individually or as a group and the names of the people
that have completed each project as well as what clients own each project. The total cost for the
clients will be calculated by the program and will present it on a clear section of the page. To
minimalize typing different functions that are available on the application I am using will be used to
accomplish this.
Input of this project:
, The input of this project will be employees of the BPDH and the managers of the same company. The
inputs will be whether employees worked on clients projects as a team or as an individual and the
final inputs will be the name of the people that have worked on each project. The names that are
entered will be saved and can be reproduced with ease instead of typing them in again for each of
the different completed projects.
Process of this project:
The process of this project is to calculate the total hours that have been spent on a particular project
and then once the appropriate pay rate has been chosen the application and the formulas used will
then calculate the over amount of pay that the client should have to pay the company, the
application also allows for the user to input their name and the clients name by selecting them from
the drop down list that has been implemented to reduce the amount of typing needed.
Output of this project:
The outputs of this project will be the amount of money each client will have to pay along with the
total amount that the company has gained in that period of time to allow for an easy understanding
of all profits made.
User interface of this project:
The user interface of this project was one of the main things mentioned in the criteria when making
the project this means that I will have to put more effort into the overall aesthetic and the design of
what the user sees to make sure that they are able to easily understand what everything does along
with how they will impact what numbers change and have a different outcome.
