1. het begrip druk
Kracht werkt op voorwerp → voorwerp kan vervormen. Vervorming hangt af
van
- grootte van de kracht
- oppervlakte waarop de kracht werkt
Kracht werkt op een kleine oppervlakte → grote vervorming.
Kracht wekt op een grote oppervlakte → kleine vervorming.
De druk p op een oppervlak is de verhouding van de grootte F van de kracht
tot de grootte A van het oppervlak waarop die kracht werkt.
2. de eenheid
De eenheid van druk is . Deze eenheid wordt ook wel pascal (Pa) genoemd. Een
druk van 1 pascal is een hele kleine waarde daarom is er nog een andere (grotere)
eenheid, namelijk de bar: 100 000 Pa = 1 bar. (100 Pa = 1 hPa en 1000 Pa = 1 kPa)
3. druk bij vast stoffen
Als je de druk zo klein mogelijk wilt houden moet je oppervlak groot zijn zodat
je het vervormen van het oppervlak of inzakken in de bodem kunt vermijden.
Als je druk zo groot mogelijk wilt maken moet je oppervlak klein zijn om het
oppervlak zoveel mogelijk te vervormen.
4. druk in een gas
Gasdeeltjes kunnen in een afgesloten ruimte vrij bewegen. Op elk moment
botsen een groot aantal gasdeeltjes tegen de wanden. Tijdens deze botsing
oefenen ze een kracht uit op de wanden. Er ontstaat een druk op elke wand.
Als een druk te groot is moet het vat uit stevig materiaal bestaan zodat het
niet vervormd door de kracht.
