Unit 18 Task 1 & 2
Introduction
In this report, I will discuss how two promotional activities were used to choose the marketing
strategy, using Cadburys and Greggs as examples. I will also analyze Greggs and Cadburys'
internal and external factors, their impacts on promotional activity, and evaluate and examine
each Greggs and Cadburys' various aspects.
Greggs
Greggs decided to launch only with fresh eggs and yeast from John Gregg's motorcycles to the
Newcastle residences 80 years ago. John Gregg opened a store 10 years later and began selling
baked goods and other delectable treats through this. The advertisement was created to
encourage people to acknowledge the lifestyle of being vegan in order to save animals for
consumption healthier, and it succeeded in doing so. As a result, people began to appreciate
Gregg's commitment and support what some individuals might also consume yet completely
everybody else. The aim is that the public who use social networks such as Instagram, Facebook
and YouTube can get an interest from this campaign. The campaign's target audience is vegans
or those considering becoming vegans who want to get in better shape and live a healthier
lifestyle. Furthermore, this demonstrates numerous advantages of turning vegan, which may
entice more clients to do so. Gregg has used YouTube and Twitter as sources of information on
social media. Greggs used these two forms of outlets in my view since it seemed the most
effective way to communicate the word and gain widespread exposure. Gregg's advertisement
video on YouTube received over 90,000 views, what was consider a success and was a great
achievement. Additionally, Greggs reached over 180,000 views on Twitter for their product
which was a vegan sausage roll, and that is a success considering the video had gained double
the number of views then their YouTube video. By doing this Greggs was able to attract
thousands of customers attention to the vegan roll sausage.
, n the picture above, it can be shown the amazing sales increase as the vegan sausage roll was
launched. The product was so successful, Gregg's sales increased by 13.5% within a year. Since
the product was launched, the demand of the product was extremely high as it was enjoyed by
a lot of people. A key factor for the success of this product was to use a range of advertising
strategies since this was the most successful way to express the product's awareness and
attract more customers, resulting in a high demand for product and sales increase.
Cadbury
In 1824 John Cadbury founded Cadbury in Birmingham, England. Cadbury previously started a
campaign with the elderly in the United Kingdom entitled "Donate your words" to help fight
isolation among the elderly. This initiative is taking place so that elderly citizens are spending
time with friends and family they care for, rather than being alone, for the future in their lives
the campaign's mission is to make elderly individuals seem somewhat less sad and lonely and
more loved and cherished. Not only that, but this campaign is also aimed for the young people
to tell them they should spend more time with their elders such as parents or grandparents.
Additionally, the key target audience It was also directed towards people who have parents or
grandparents, encouraging them to invest time with the elders to alleviate their loneliness.
They used television as their platform to promote. They advertised it on television during
commercial breaks throughout programs. This was done since it was the most productive
method of delivering the word to the elderly. The reason TV was more Effective because most
elderly do not use social media such as snapchat, Instagram, tiktok, etc. I assume the campaign
was really a great achievement since they distributed 1 million bars for 30p each, with 500k people
contributing according to their own kindness. It has also updated the packaging to make it a little less
expensive and look neater. This also saved Cadbury since they had to spend less money on the
