- Mekka is een stad in Saoedi-Arabië waar er alleen moslims in mogen. Het is voor
moslims een heilige stad. De Kaaba is het belangrijkste Islamitische heiligdom. In
de hoek van het gebouw zit een zwarte steen. Dit is waarschijnlijk een meteoriet
geweest. Een tocht naar Mekka als pelgrim is één van de vijf plichten die bij het
moslim zijn hoort. Miljoenen pelgrims maken jaarlijks de tocht naar Mekka.
- Als je moslim bent moet je zeker een keer in Mekka geweest zijn. Als je in Mekka
bent moeten de moslims moet je zeven rondjes lopen om de Ka'aba. Als je geen moslim
bent, dan mag je Mekka niet in.
