H01: Toepassing ICF1. Inleiding
= International Classification of Functioning, disability and health
= begrippenkader waarmee het mogelijk is het functioneren van mensen en de eventuele problemen die mensen tijdens
het functioneren ondervinden te beschrijven. Daarnaast wordt er ook gekeken naar persoonlijke factoren en factoren
van buitenaf die hierop van invloed kunnen zijn.
Met andere woorden de ICF beschrijft hoe mensen omgaan met hun gezondheidstoestand. Iemands gezondheid is met
behulp van de ICF te karakteriseren in lichaamsfuncties en anatomische eigenschappen, activiteiten en participatie.
Gezondheid is aldus te beschrijven vanuit lichamelijk, individueel en maatschappelijk perspectief. Aangezien iemands
functioneren - en problemen daarmee - plaatsvinden in een bepaalde context, bevat de ICF ook omgevingsfactoren.
2. Doelstellingen ICF
De ICF is een classificatie die voor meer dan één doel geschikt is en die is ontwikkeld voor toepassing in verschillende
vakgebieden en uiteenlopende sectoren.
Meer specifiek heeft de ICF de volgende doelstellingen ® de ICF voorziet in een wetenschappelijke grondslag voor het

- Onderdelen van organen (zoals een longkwab of een hartklep)
Hiervan kunnen met de ICF zowel de functies als de anatomische eigenschappen worden beschreven.
