1. Introducción: Conceptos Previos
- Relieve = conjunto de formas que presenta la superficie terrestre. La geomorfología
estudia el relieve.

1.1 Origen y Evolución de un Relieve
La teoría tectónica de placas
Esta teoría explica la formación del relieve a partir de placas de la litosfera. Las
interacciones entre las placas se producen en sus bordes:
- Bordes divergentes: placas se separan, produciéndose grietas por las que el magma
asciende y al enfriarse, crea nuevo suelo.

- Bordes convergentes: placas se aproximan y se produce la subducción de parte de la
litosfera. Esta se convierte en magma por las altas temps del interior y da lugar a
volcanes.

- Bordes de falla transformantes: placas se deslizan una respecto la otra y no se
destruye ni se produce litosfera.

, Los factores del relieve
- Factores internos: fuerzas tectónicas provenientes del interior de la tierra. Levantan el
relieve y a veces destruyen los ya existentes (volcanes).
- Factores externos: cuando la superficie se transforma por la acción de agentes
externos, como el agua, viento, lluvias, seres vivos…
- Factores litológicos: cada roca condiciona las formas del relieve.

1.2 Nociones Básicas Sobre Estructuras Plegadas y Falladas
Las estructuras plegadas
- Un pliegue es una ondulación de los estratos rocosos. Los pliegues tienen una doble
ondulación, el anticlinal y sinclinal.
- Se producen sobre materiales plásticos.
- El el relieve conforme los anticlinales están levantados y los sinclinales hundidos.
- En el relieve inverso los anticlinales son los valles y los sinclinales los levantados.

Las estructuras falladas
- Una falla es un accidente tectónico. Se producen sobre materiales rígidos y son
incapaces de plegarse y se rompen.
