De digitale verpleegkundige – new technology extendedreality
1. inleiding
⟹ innovatieve technologieën zoals VR, AR en
mixed MR doen steeds meer hun intrede.
- Extended reality: is een overkoepelende term voor virtual reality, augmented
en mixed reality. Bv. Vuze (cameraproducent die voordien enkel sprak over
VR benoemt zijn nieuwe camera als Vuze XR Camera)
- XR: verschillende multimedia-toepassingen, waaronder de projectie van 2D
elementen tot volledige digitale 3D-omgevingen
- Virtual reality: presenteren van de hele virtuele realiteit. Het is een complete
onderdompelingservaring die de fysieke wereld uitsluit. Je kijkt door een VR
bril en de omgeving is totaal anders als de fysieke.
o Eigenlijk al in jaren 80-90 maar ging niet op door hardware en dure prijs
- Cybersickness: bewegingsziekte door de bewegende kunstmatige beelden.
Bv. vermoeide ogen, hoofdpijn, bleekheid, zweten, minder speeksel, vol
gevoel maag, desoriëntatie, vertigo, ataxie, misselijkheid en overgeven.
o Direct na blootstelling en kunnen dagen aanhouden.
o Risico neemt af door aantal beelden per seconde aan te passen,

2. augmented reality en mixed reality
- Augmented reality: voegt digitale
elementen toe, als overlay op de echte wereld. Het gebruikt de echte fysieke
wereld als een canvas waarop deze elementen worden toegevoegd bv.
Pokémon Go
- Mixed reality: voegt virtuele en fysieke wereld samen, waarbij de volledige
omgeving – incl. alles wat er zich rond omgeeft – in kaart wordt gebracht. De
techniek projecteert digitale elementen in deze omgeving. Die elementen
kunnen van een hoge kwaliteit zijn dat je ze niet van de echte zou kunnen
onderscheiden. De grens is dus laag hiertussen.
3. extended reality in de gezondheidszorg
- Exposure therapy - Trauma’s: zo kan je ze verwerken door de beelden te
zien via de VR-bril, het is een simulatie waar de situatie is nagemaakt
- Serious gaming binnen revalidatie – InmotionVR:
o Emteq VR facial paralysis rehab: spieren worden gestimuleerd terug
te gebruiken, de VR reality is een spiegel
o Icaro: training in VR met sensoren.
- Pain reduction & distractie – SnowWorld: voor mensen met brandwonden
o Oncomfort (distractie): zoals bv. tijdens een operatie, vaccinatie bij
kind
o Fantoompijn: er wordt zogezegd getoond wat de andere hand zou
gedaan hebben als je die effectief zou bewegen
- Cognitieve therapie - reminiscentie therapie: herinneringen terug brengen
