Elektrochemische cellen = verzamelnaam voor batterijen en accu’s; chemische
energie wordt omgezet in elektrische energie.
• Bestaat uit twee halfcellen (ruimtes waar apart reactie van oxidator en reductor
plaatsvinden)


Daniellcel = eerste elektrochemische cel (batterij)
• Zoutbrug = buisje met geleidende zoutoplossing, die zorgt voor gesloten
stroomkring in elektrochemische cel.
• Membraan = poreuze wand die selectief ionen doorlaat.


Positieve elektrode (pluspool) = elektrode waaraan oxidator reageert
Negatieve elektrode (minpool) = elektrode waaraan reductor reageert


Bronspanning (van elektrochemische cel) = verschil tussen
standaardelektrodepotentiaal van ox en red.


Staafbatterij = elektrochemische cel (batterij)
• Elektrolyt = pasta vulmiddel dat werkt als zoutbrug of membraan.
