Alcohol:
effect on the human body that could be Permanent. Chronic disease is something that would
happen if you were to drink too much alcohol over a long period of time. other serious
problems including,
➢ High blood pressure
➢ heart disease
➢ Stroke
➢ liver disease
➢ digestive problems
➢ Cancer of the mouth, throat , breast, esophagus and liver

When it comes to alcohol the government has created a guideline of how many units per
week you should be consuming. On average it's important to know that both men and women
should NOT drink no more than 14 units of alcohol per week. If you are planning on drinking
more than 14 units then you should make sure that you are spreading this over at least 3
days. It's recommended that on a daily basis women should not consume no more than 2-3,
however men can consume a little more so should not be drinking more than 3-4 units per
day.

If you have more than double the daily recommendations then this is considered to be
called “ binge drinking “These guidelines are in place to ensure that drinking anything over
the recommended amount of alcohol can cause a lot of issues. Some of the more serious
issues that come with drinking too much alcohol include Alcohol-related liver disease
(ARLD).for the most part ARLD does not usually cause any symptoms until the liver has
been extremely damaged , When something like this occurs things like feeling sick or weight
loss any maybe jaundice could start to happen
There are usually 3 main stages that come with ARLD , these include Alcoholic fatty liver
disease , Alcoholic hepatitis and lastly cirrhosis of the liver.
stage one :
Alcoholic fatty liver disease can happen even if you have not been drinking for a very long
time as it is a build up of fats in the liver. This stage of your liver disease could usually be
reversed if you were to not drink , after around 2 weeks it may start to repair. it is reversible
however can still be very dangerous . In basic terms this is where the beginning of the
scarring to the liver starts. Because of excessive drinking , slowly you will start to scar the
liver. If you stop drinking at this point , it is unlikely that anything further will happen to your
liver and it should heal naturally.
stage two :
Alcoholic hepatitis is the second stage that comes with drinking an excessive amount of
alcohol , this is the stage that your liver really starts to see the damage that is being done. If
you're at the very start of hepatitis then stopping drinking completely may save you from
moving to a more serious issue. However if you have severe alcoholic hepatitis then it's
unlikely that your body will stop there , usually it's too late as your liver has already started
failing. In basic terms , it's the inflammation of the liver due to over drinking. It starts when
our body starts the process for breaking down alcohol , it produces a toxic chemical. This

, triggers inflammation that destroys our healthy liver cells. As time goes by, scars from the
inflammation replace healthy liver tissue in the liver. This irreversible scarring then goes on
to cause the final stage of ARLD.
The final stage :
A very common issue that comes with drinking too much alcohol includes cirrhosis of the
liver , this is one of the more life threatening issues that could happen from excessive use of
alcohol. This is the stage in excessive alcohol use that the liver becomes very scarred. In turn
because the liver is so scarred it then Decreases the flow of blood to the liver significantly
increases pressure in the vein that brings our blood to the liver from your intestines
and spleen.cirrhosis of the liver is usually the last stage of liver failure as it happens after all
the other stages of liver disease. Even when being diagnosed with this your liver will still
usually work for a while however it will eventually lead to liver failure
As a whole it's clear to see that ARLD can have a massive impact on your body and the way
in which it functions, it's important to make sure that you're following the government
guidelines on the amount of alcohol but you should be consuming to ensure your body stays
and maintains a healthy state. The amount of alcohol you are consuming decides whether or
not you will fall victim to any of these alcohol related liver diseases.

Physical activity:
- physical activity is one of the most important ways to keep your body healthy and happy.
Not only is it important to maintain a healthy lifestyle, it is also important to make sure that
you include moderate exercise in your routines to keep your body in shape. There are alot of
different reasons that you should be making sure you're doing physical activities . The
government has introduced a basic guideline that shows you the amount of exercise that you
should be doing in order to keep your body at a maintained level of fit. The government
recommendations are as follows :

➢ Some sort of strengthening activity which works things like your hips and legs. This is
recommended to be done at least 2 times during a week.
➢ do at least 150 minutes , which is around 2 and a half hours of moderate intensity
activity a week or 75 minutes which is the same as and hour and 15 minutes of
moderate intensity activity a week
➢ spread exercise over 4 to 5 days a week , however if you are more fitter than you can
aim to more than the recommended days as this is a moderate baseline.
➢ cut down the amount of sitting or laying down your doing and make sure that you are
moving around if you have been sitting down for a while.
there are many different reason that you should consider doing some exercise , a few of
these reasons include :

➢ lost of weight

➢ reduces the chances High blood pressure
