Shakespeare was born in Stratford-
upon-Avon in april 13 1564. He lived
with his family; his father John
Shakespeare, his mother Mary Arden and his younger siblings Gilbert, Richard, Edmund, Joan and
Anne in Henley Street. Shakespeare studied in Stratford Grammar School in the city of Stratford.
When he was 18 he married the 26 year old Anne Hathaway and got kids with her called Susanna,
Judith and Hamnet, she died when she was 11 years. No one knows what Shakespeare did to make
money for he and his family. Some people think that he was a teacher .In 1586 or 1587 he left
Stratford and arrived in London in 1588. It took him 4 years till he got success as an actor and as a
writer. In 1592 there was a disease so theaters and some other places were closed, because of that
he became unemployed. In that time he started writing poems, that’s when his sonnets ‘were born’.
The theaters were opend in 1592. Shakespeare was in a group with other actors, they were called the
Lord Chamberlain’s Men. Shakespeare got rich and could buy big houses in Stratford. He went back
to Stratford-upon-Avon in 1610 and died in april 23 1616. Shakespeare was important because hes
stories were great and inspired people. His poems were modern and classical, he was a master of the
artistry of the English language. The play that made him famous was Romeo and Juliet.
