Formules en grafieken
Lineaire formules:
Bij een lineair verband tussen x en y hoort als grafiek een rechte lijn. De bijbehorende formule
heeft de vorm y = ax + b. Hierin is a de richtingscoëfficiënt.
Rc = a betekent: 1 naar rechts en a omhoog. Het snijpunt van
de lijn met de y-as is het punt (0,b).
Horizontale en verticale lijnen:
De lijn k: y = 4 is de horizontale lijn door het punt (0,4).
De lijn m: x = 2 is de verticale lijn door het punt (2,0).
Grafiek tekenen bij een lineaire formule:
Om de lijn l: y = -0,5x + 2 te tekenen, maak je een tabel met
twee ‘mooie’ punten, bijvoorbeeld x 0 2
Evenwijdige lijnen: y 2 1
De formule van de lijn k door het punt (2,3) die evenwijdig is met de lijn p: y = 4x – 6 stel je
als volgt op. Evenwijdige lijnen hebben dezelfde rc, dus rck = rcp = 4. Dus
k: y = 4x + b
3 = 4*2 + b
-5 = b
Duh.
Snijpunten van lijnen:
Zet tegenover elkaar, reken x uit, vul x in een van de twee formules om y uit te rekenen, voilà.
De formule van een lijn door twee gegeven punten:
Van de lijn y = ax +b is de rc
Δy y b− y a
a= =
Δx x b−x a
Als je twee punten weet, vul je die in zoals hierboven weergeven. Dan weet je a, vervolgens
vul je die a in. Dan gebruik je de getallen van één punt om je nieuwe grafiek in te vullen + de
a die je net hebt uitgerekend. Dan kan je b ook uitrekenen.
