Cartografie Kaarten zijn fundamenteel:
=> Informatie over ligging en ruimtelijke kenmerken van
natuur-en cultuurlandschap.
=> Oriënteren
=> Politieke, economische, milieu en sociale noden onderzoeken.
=> Verleden, zeer belangrijk instrument voor leger.
=> Verleden, bezit van kaarten = doodstraf.

1. Kaartvoorstelling
1.1. Van aarde naar plat vlak
De cartografie probleem bolvormige aarde moeten oplossen.
Probleem: aarde bolvormig => enige juiste weergave is een globe.
Niet echt handig willen we deze globe op een plat vlak voorstellen.

Ligging van het projectievlak:
Normale, transversale en scheve stand.
Kan aarde raken, snijden of geen contact.
As van kegel of cilinder samenvalt met aardas en het raakpunt
van raakvlak = noord-of zuidpool => normale projectie.
As van kegel of cilinder of raakpunt van raakvlak in evenaarsvlak
=> transversale projectie
Assen = willekeurige stand => scheve projectie
Ligging van het projectiecentrum:
Centrale of gnomische, stereografische en orthografische
projectie.
1.3 De projecties voor de gps-coördinaten in België en voor de UTM-
coördinaten.
