1.1. Introductie onderwerp
Het maatschappelijke vraagstuk is eenzaamheid en verbinden. Eenzaamheid is een negatief begrip, dat wordt beoordeeld vanuit een persoonlijk
gevoel. Het kan op verschillende manieren geïnterpreteerd en gevoeld worden.
Het Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek heeft in 2019 onderzoek gedaan naar eenzaamheid. Uit resultaten van de enquête bleek dat 26% van de
Nederlandse bevolking (vanaf 15 jaar) eenzaamheid lichtjes voelde en 9% sterk. Eenzaamheid kwam het meeste voor bij 75-plussers, waarvan
9% eenzaamheid sterk voelde en een op de drie lichtjes (van Toorn, 2020).
1.2. Aanleiding
In opdracht van Hogeschool InHolland Rotterdam, ben ik een onderzoek gestart naar eenzaamheid en verbinding. Ik heb mij daarbij gericht op de
doelgroep internationale studenten, die voor een langere termijn in Nederland studeren. De keuze van deze doelgroep is simpelweg omdat je niet
snel aan internationale studenten denkt bij het onderwerp eenzaamheid. Het is van belang om hen te helpen zodat zij aangenamer hun diploma
behalen. Aan de hand van onderzoeksresultaten, bedenk ik passende ideeën om eenzaamheid voor internationale studenten te verminderen. Ik
bewandel een creatieve pad om tot die ideeën te komen en te visualiseren.
