, CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT 2

Civil Rights Movement

Explain if the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s effectively changed the nation?

changes came at a large price to the leaders and communities of African-Americans. The civil

rights movement was an empowering yet dangerous time for blacks in America. The efforts of

civil rights activists and countless protestors of all races brought about legislation to finally end

of African-Americans and would launch their own movement in an attempt to end ethnic

discrimination. Mexican American’s utilized strikes and marches in an effort to rally for better

working and living conditions while Native American’s would rally for equality and racial
