Introduction
In this essay I shall be analysing my personal contribution to the selection
process. To be more specific I shall be stating and assessing my own
performance in a role play interview scenario where I play an applicant who is
applying for a job with Emirates airlines. In addition I shall also be evaluating a
certain item of documentation my application form for the role. Furthermore I
shall also be looking at the five questions in which I asked the employer and shall
discuss in my opinion my own strengths and weaknesses as well as gather
feedback from my partner in the role play assessment.
Assessment of application form
To start this essay I shall be evaluating how well and able I am to complete a job
application form for Emirates airlines. In the application form I am applying for
the role as a member of cabin crew. In the first section of the application form I
have successfully filled in all the questions relating to my personal details and
contact information. I have stated the following: title, full name, address of
residents, e-mail address, contact numbers, date of birth, nationality. The next
section of the application form requires me to fill in the following information:
height, weight, questions about previous or current engagement or family
members working with emirates, first spoken language and any additional
languages prior to this. The last section is simply a question relating to how I the
applicant heard about the role and through which type of advertisement media
platform or exposure.
Assessment of questions
Now I’m going to analyse the questions I had prepared and asked for the
employer during the role-play interview scenario. The first question I asked was:
‘I understand your organisation is quite large and runs on an
international scale but does it value its employees?’. This question was
aimed at the employer to give me the applicant an understanding of how
Emirates airlines functions and on what scale do they operate. Adding to this it
also targets how much Emirates value their employees.
Secondly I shall be looking at this question: ‘Where will I be based as an
employee?’. This was a much more to the point question specifying where I as
the applicant would be based, as Emirates operates internationally have several
branches across the globe.
The third question I asked was: ‘What countries will I most likely be flying
to and how frequently?’. Similar to the last question I asked this one links to
where I’ll be based as an employee more specifically it was so I the applicant
could see my destinations, as well as where I would most likely be visiting during
my period of work.
My next question however is more focused at the employer’s previous
experience: ‘What key skills might you the employer recommended
which are necessary to success in this line of work?’. This question was a
personal one to see if I could gain advice or learn anything from the employer’s
