Unit 1 - Assignment 2

The Effects Of The
Environment On a Business

In this report I'm discussing how the effect of the environment
has impacted a business. The business I have chosen is
Volkswagen and I'm going to be carrying out research and going
to be using different formats of a situational analysis such as:
SWOT , PESTLE , 5C’s and Porter's Five Forces. After carrying out
the research I would evaluate how it allowed them to change and
maybe give some recommendations on what they can do to
improve.

Discuss the internal, external and competitive environment on a
given organisation

Volkswagen corporate culture stands and makes the company
look like they are really good to bring in anyone and allow them to
fulfil their dream including allowing people to be with the
company at entry level and be taught to a professional level. The
company has diverse opportunities for their employees as they
say the colleagues will be either innovating and looking into the
future for the company or work with current vehicles or provide
the company's services and products to its customers. This also
includes people who are studying or have already graduated and
the company will allow a such person to progress with the
company.
Furthermore , you may be a colleague for the company but
Volkswagen dont look at it that way , your part of the family they
care about what you got to say as it will only go towards the
company’s innovations which means the company cares about the
chemistry between the colleagues and themselves as chemistry
inside the company is really important because it allows everyone
to strive the best for the company.

The company is German but they take other people seriously as in
they're not racist or anything , they stand fully against it. This is
important for the business because it shows they care and makes
the company look good on the media. Also , it shows that they
take in anyone which allows the potential colleague to feel
comfortable as they wouldn't want to work in an environment
where it doesn't take different races in and doesn't make them

feel welcome. So Volkswagen making this public and known is
good for the company because it allows the company to grow
internally which will lead to external goodness as the customer
from a different race will feel comfortable and happy to purchase
from them.

Volkswagen carry out CSR projects every year which is part of
their company and they work with other organisations such as
German Red Cross. Also the company believes doing this makes
them the most sustainable car manufacture out there because
they believe it makes their stakeholders happy.
The company has this motto ‘ Helping Together ’ which shows that
the company is willing to help other people out whether its their
colleagues or not and on projects they personally provide their
vehicles even on non-monetary projects. So this shows that
Volkswagen takes part in projects that hasn't got anything to do
with their company and they care about other citizens that's why
they take part in CSR projects.

Being a car manufacturer the ultimate goal is to make sales all
over the world and to beat the competition. Volkswagen is one of
the premium top manufacturers for cars and they have serious
competition such as Audi , Mercedes , Seat , BMW , Ford and many
more even though Audi and Seat come from the same ‘ family ’ as
Volkswagen. Besides that locally people have many options to
choose from because Volkswagen is based in BD4 surrounded by
Vauxhall , Peugeot and BMW but in central Bradford , Canal Road
theres Audi , Skoda , Ford , Jaguar , Lexus , Range Rover and even
cars that have already been modified by A Kahns. In Bradford
there a lot of competition it just depends on how much the
person is willing to pay and what he or she wants for their money.
