Evidence to support MSMCASE STUDY OF HM (1953)
Henry Molaison (known as HM) underwent surgery to remove part of his brain
(hippocampus) to help with his seizures.
Experimental surgery carried out by Dr Scoville led to anterograde amnesia (memory failure
for information after an event).
This meant that HM could no longer form new long-term memories, but his memory from
before the surgery AND his short term memory was unaffected.
