Book review questions (each question should be answered in between 75 - 100
words).

1 What is the connection between the title and the book? Explain in detail with
examples from the book. How does the title relate to the main character/s?
The titel from the book is Before I let go, the main character from the book are Corey and
Kyra. The title relate to Corey because before Corey let Kyra go she wants to investigate how
Kyra died. The people who lives in Lost say that Kyra committed suicide, but Corey can’t
believe this, before she can relativize Kyra’s dead, she wanted to know what the real cause of
death is. Corey can’t believe the Lost inhabitants because before she moved away Kyra
promised that she will wait for her return.
2 Characterization: What kind of person is/are the main character/s? In what ways
does that become clear to you as a reader? Explain with examples from the book.
Corey was the best friend from Kyra, she moved to Canada, made their some friends there.
She is helpful, because together with Kyra helped she Mrs Robinson with her garden. She
thought that her time in lost creek felt like a bubble, an almost all-white conservative town
with little room for wayward girls. Corey was happier at St.James. Corey never understand
Kyra totally because Corey thought that she was fearless but Kyra was never fearless. Kyra
was a girl with a bipolar disorder, sometimes she had long nights and hero days. She was
determined, she wanted life to have a meaning, she wanted to change the world. She didn’t
belong to the community because of her illness. Kyra was very good in painting but she didn’t
like painting, she paints only when she was manic because then she had lot’s of energy and
she can’t slept for days.

3 Who is your favourite character in the book and why? Explain with details of what
he/she is saying / doing in the book. My favourite character in the book is Kyra because she
was very creative, and loves stories, I like stories to. She wanted to mean something for the
world, that’s a good intention. In the book Kyra is already dead, but there are flashbacks in
which she talks, in the flashbacks she is together with Corey, often they talk, Kyra was in love
with Corey. Once they kissed each other but Corey is not attracted to girls.

4 Development: In what ways does the main character change or develop during the
story? How do you notice that as a reader? Give detailed examples from the book.
When she lived in Lost, she never understand what Kyra means with they are always
watching, she thought that she means the shadow and haunts of the building but now she
know what she mean. She mean that all of Lost is staring, she finds out what it's like to be an
outsider. In the plane she thought that everything should be as before, but they treat her like
she didn’t belong in Lost.
5 Conflict: What is the most important emotional conflict that the main character
becomes involved in? How does the writer end the conflict? Explain.
The moment that she heard Kyra died, she was very sad, and she was very confused when she
arrived in Lost because everyone was saying that it was here time, that she foresaw it, that
lost found meaning with Kyra and that they learned to understand each other. She was also
very scary when the house was on fire and no one looked after her, they didn’t care that she
was in the burning house.

6 Ending: Is there an open or closed ending to the book? How did that make you feel as
