OBJECTIVE QUESTIONS

PART 6

OBJECTIVE QUESTIONS

This section contains true-false and multiple-choice
questions keyed directly to the text. Questions are
arranged by chapter and overview, and are formatted
for quick and easy use. The last section of the
Instructor's Manual provides answers to the
questions and page numbers referring to sections of
the text used to frame that question.

I have found it useful to use the true-false questions
to give regular reading quizzes. Five to ten questions
given frequently are an excellent inducement not to
fall behind in reading the text. In my experience,
quizzes work best if they are kept short and count for
approximately 10-15% of the final course grade.
When I give quizzes, I inform the class that some quiz
questions will appear on larger unit tests. This takes
some of the bite out of the quizzes and provides an
unobtrusive form of extra credit for studying carefully
the first time. At the least, it gives students a reason
to learn from the quizzes.
