Impressionism is frequently regarded as the first truly contemporary art movement,and I wholeheartedly agree. It is, in my opinion, the most significant trend in
modern art. Berthe Morisot, Claude Monet, August Renoir, Edgar Degas, Camille
Pissarro, and Alfred Sisley were among a group of Paris-based painters who opted

impressionism was coined after a picture by Claude Monet called Impression soleil

before them, and they did it at a period when society was rapidly changing. They
