The Baroque Period caught my attention during my virtual tour of the Museum of

Modern Art (MET). This period relates to Western European art and music from 1600 to 1750

and is derived from the Portuguese Barroco. During this period, music and art bore lavishness,

drama and emotional interest characteristics (Readingaboutart, 2020).

Comparing some of the music histories from this period to the disproportionate pearl

might seem sporadic. For instance, during the 19th-century critics who used the term “the music

of Bach and Handel’s era sounded extremely beautified and extravagant” (Readingaboutart,

2020). On the other hand, the Baroque period music saw the composition of a new form of art.

The composers and artists fashioned an extravagant musical enhancement and changed the

melodies' symbolism and imagery. This undertaking created new musical techniques shaped

through the instruments used. Some of the depictions to illustrate the Baroque period style are as
